Water Features, Ponds & Dams

Water Features

Turn your garden landscape and outdoor space into a peaceful retreat with the soothing sound and movement of water. Whether it’s a waterfall, channel, fountain, formal architecturally styled feature, or just a couple of overflowing urns or pots, we can design a feature that will integrate with your building design style and garden theme.

Every water feature created by Decro is totally unique. We also supply and install free-standing waterfeatures (ceramic, concrete, fibreglass, etc.).

Our breathtaking displays of water in motion brings years of enjoyment and in our opinion is an absolute essential for any garden landscape, big or small.

We design waterfeatures for shop fronts, parking areas, residential estate entrances, indoor areas, aquatic gardens and small garden focal points. All designs make provision for easy owner interaction (control systems), wind and evaporation water loss factors, reliable fill and drainage systems for maintenance purposes, complete with piping, pump, filtration and valve schematics (scaled AUTOCAD drawings).

Ponds & Koi Ponds

Whether it’s a waterfall, pond, stream, fountain, fish or “fishless”, aquatic plants, we can help you create a water haven in your own garden.

Each pond designed and created by Decro is a unique concept combining natural stone, pebbles, wood and aquatic plants. We integrate your interests and desires with the beautiful accent of nature.

Our pond design, construction and water management theory is based on natural science, practicality and aesthetics.  In reality, nature cannot be duplicated, but Decro leaves no stone unturned to emulate nature as far as practically possible.  We consider our pond creations as a form of art and take great pride in our ability to emulate nature.

Obviously, ponds stocked with fish demand serious consideration to water management, which includes a decent water filtration system, ultra violet lights to control algae, the inclusion of bacteria to remove nitrates – whereas water management in “fishless” ponds is not as intense.  Most of the fish ponds that we build are intended for Koi keeping, but in reality any of our fish ponds can sustain any fresh water fish species, including our own South African fish species such as Tilapia/Kurper.

Blue kurper were spread to many other waters, including the mighty Orange River, in southern Africa as a food fish for humans and also because of its popular angling status. Currently, most urban waters and especially municipal dams have healthy stocks of these fish in South Africa. The kurper is also called Tilapia and is an extremely hardy fish which adds variety to any Koi Pond or in fact any Water Feature, pond or dam.

The redbreast tilapia (Coptodon rendalli) is a species of fish in the family Cichlidae. It is found widely in the southern half of Africa.
